Waterton Park's wide variety of habitats is a haven for an astonishing number of plants and wildflowers. Due to the "Prairies to Peaks" environment in the park, plants that live in prairies and all the way to the peaks of the mountains, live in the park, about 1400 varieties. "Beargrass" is unique to this area, and the Pygmy Poppy has been found in Canada in Waterton Park only. Amongst these plants are over 245 species of birds. Positioned on the axis of two major migratory corridors, Waterton Park is a bird watchers paradise!
